Faith is a highly charged and deeply personal concept. It's a feeling and a fact, a verb and a noun.

Here's my definition: Faith is daring to do something ⎯ daring to believe ⎯ regardless of the consequences. It's the hand that guides people to be stronger than they think they are and do the things they dream are possible. It has the power to ward off debilitating doubt, complacent indifference, pessimism. It keeps us looking for love, creating children, and adopting causes.

Faith gives us hope; it's the knowing that there is something more than what we see in the mirror.
